Jack and I went to South Padre Island last weekend.
We attended the Family Life marriage retreat called
"A Weekend to Remember."
The conference was held at the Radisson Resort
in South Padre, so we stayed there.
This was a good chance for us to check out South Padre
as well as the Radisson Resort.
We go to Port Aransas every summer,
but I think we've agreed on a new vacation spot.
I can't believe I've lived in Texas for 40 years
and have never visited South Padre!
Our room connected to this walkway, which took us straight to the beach.as well as the Radisson Resort.

Here Jack models this for you!
The hotel was nothing fancy, but the grounds were beautiful.
The pool is in the center of the resort, just like at Port Royal. It's much smaller but still has a grill and bar. There is also live music at night.
And here is the beach! It is so much prettier than the northern end of Padre. Everything is so clean! The sand is white, the water is clear, and there are no cars obstructing the view (even though some 4-wheeler had clearly been in this spot!)
We had to get a few pictures of ourselves, just to prove we were really there and did not just steal the pictures from a website!
Mexico is close so we went for a short visit.
It's not a particularly interesting or friendly border town.
I'd say we do Schlitterbahn as a family. The park is minutes from the resort!

The Sand Castle Festival was taking place while we were there.
Can you believe these creations???
All in all, we had an amazing time.
Yes, the beach was beautiful, but the conference was even better.
I'd highly recommend it to every married couple,
no matter what season your marriage is in.
It's a great reminder of God's perfect plan for marriage
and what our role is in bringing that to fruition.

Have you really lived in Texas 40 years? I've never lived anywhere near that long!
