Ice in Austin!

I know those of you who live in other parts of the country (specifically my friends in Michigan!) are laughing at this post. But as another family member so eloquently stated, "It's my blog, and I'll post what I want!" (Teehee!)

As you can see, we were inundated with ice and a sprinkle of snow this week.

Rare as this is around here, we were all in a bit of awe.

Check out the icicles at Jack's office.

Nothing EVER freezes like this in Austin!

We even had to make an "inside" home for the "outside" dogs.

Housebound for 3 days, I must admit we were a little stir crazy. We had lots of pancakes, soups, and hot chocolate.

Someone had a friend over every night (sometimes more than one friend), and we began referring to our little "unplanned vacation" as "Snow Camp."

I'm ready for February break and a beautiful beach!!

We are laughing a little in Michigan, but only because it is actually about as much winter as we've had here! Pretty impressive pictures, if you ask me! I love the way the ice looks on the trees! We had a day where the trees looked much like that, and I tried to take some pictures, but could not capture the way it looked. As it happened, it was a sunny day (rare in winter here!) and the sun sparkling in the trees was just gorgeous. But, my photography skills did not do it justice!

These pictures are amazing- I love the look on Kelsey's face as she's pointing to the ice! I wish we could have "snow camp" up here, it sounds like a blast!

So we log on to see that warmer parts of the country might be enjoying what they have... as the high today here in West MI is 6, and the low is -3 with a -30 degree wind chill, I must say we were just holding a glimer of hope that there are warm places in the country (esp after shoveling...) Looking forward for more updates, as we have yet again added another video of carolyn and her antics. Looking forward to our visit in march!!!
