Chicago (Finally!)

Just before school started, Kelsey, Erica, Peyton, and I took a trip to
Michigan and Chicago. It was technically a "girls' weekend,"
but exceptions are made for nursing babies.

Here we are on the plane! As always,
Peyton was an angel. He slept most of the way!

Below, Kelsey and Erica are in the rental car as we head out of the Chicago airport.
They spent a lot of time in this backseat together (with Peyton in between them)!

On our first night, we drove to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We hung out at EB's for awhile and then drove to Holland for dinner.

After dinner, we went to the beach. Wow!!
Lake Michigan is gorgeous. White sand, real waves, and clear water (with no salt!).

. . . . and one of God's most beautiful sunsets!

Visited Holland and Hope College the next day . . .

And then . . . . Chicago!!

Peyton was a trooper, eating, shopping, and hanging out,
just like one of the girls!

It rained most of the time, so we learned to do the

umbrella look quite well!

We took a boat ride through the city (on a rainy afternoon, of course!)

We rode the train in and out of town . . . what a blast!

This seemed like such an appropriate closing . . . Kelsey and Peyton crashed!
